Learn How To Make Banana Stem Chutney With Chef Lakshmi Only On Variety Vantalu. <br />Banana stem is high in fiber & like the fruit is a good source of Potassium & Vitamin B6. It also maintains fluid balance in our body & has cooling properties. Many reasons to include them in your diet. <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br />Banana Stem 4 inch long --2 <br />Yogurt -- 2 cups <br />Green Chiles --- 3 ( chopped) <br />Salt to taste <br />Dry Red Chillies -- 2 <br />Fenugreek Seeds-- 1/4 tsp <br />Mustard Seeds -- 1/2 tsp <br />Ghee -- 1/2 tbsp <br />Method: <br />1. In a bowl, take some curd and make it as buttermilk. <br />2. Remove the thread like portion from the banana stems and chop finely. <br />3. Soak that pieces in the buttermilk, otherwise, it will turn black. <br />4. After some time, remove that pieces in another bowl. <br />5. Next, prepare for tempering. Add1 tbsp ghee in a pan and heat it. <br />6. Once it is heated, add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds and saute it well. <br />7. Next add dry red chilies, curry leaves, green chilies and saute it well. <br />8. Once tempering ready, add banana steam pieces and saute it well. Fry for a couple of minutes <br />9. Mix well. Stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes. <br />10. Lastly, add curd and mix it well. <br />Serve hot with rice or chapathi. <br />Happy Cooking !!
